Power can blind and make you deaf to Reality.

Ex President Mahama at the Creative Connect in Kumasi described the Creative Industry as getting worse and Uncle Rex reiterated the same FACT over the weekend but according to the Deputy Minister Mark Okraku-Mantey said the industry is rather in a far better state and that Rex should provide statistics to buttress his claim. If you ask me I’ll say the industry is in a very very bad state and it’s nothing to write home about. Ghallywood went to sleep long ago and Kumawood that was keeping the film industry awake joined it a few years ago. Almost all the Actors are now struggling on YouTube to find their daily bread and the rest have turned into followers of politicians. All we see on our screens are foreign soap operas and I guess that’s what our Minister is proud of. The music industry is in a sad state with no investors and it’s left with the individual Artists struggling on their own with no assistance from even government. The CMO’s that use to give them royalties have been rendered...

Sally Mann’s ‘Pull Shatta Down’ Confession Is a Disincentive to Potential Investors — Enock Agyapong on Ahotor Mmre Ghanaian award-winning entertainment critic Enock Agyepong recently voiced his concerns during an interview with host Obaapa Janee regarding Sally Mann’s troubling confession about trying to “pull down” Shatta Wale. Agyepong highlighted that such statements cast a negative light on the music industry and could dissuade potential investors from backing Ghanaian artists. He pointed out that the mindset of wanting to sabotage others is one of the most detrimental aspects of the music scene, as it fosters an environment of hostility rather than growth. Mr. Agyepong argued that when figures like Sally Mann acknowledge their intentions to undermine prominent artists like Shatta, it creates an atmosphere of mistrust, making the industry appear hostile to business. “Investors are unlikely to invest in a system where industry players gather to jeopardize the artists they’re i...

“Only Evil People Will Meet to Plan the Downfall of a Brand” – Enock Agyepong

“Only Evil People Will Meet to Plan the Downfall of a Brand” – Enock Agyepong Enock Agyepong, a prominent figure in the Ghanaian music scene, is known for his direct and passionate style of addressing issues and has made a strong statement regarding rumours of coordinated sabotage against brands. “Only evil people will meet to plan the downfall of a brand,” he stated emphatically, resonating with the listeners. To Agyapong, gathering to plot against a brand’s success is a dark and morally questionable path. He emphasized that the focus of the industry should be on fostering mutual growth, collaboration, and strengthening creative communities rather than engaging in negativity on ”Ahotor Mmre”, hosted by Obaapa Janee. This statement comes amidst rising concerns about some individuals in the entertainment sector potentially working against talents and brands.  THANK YOU  for constantly reading stories on KYAscriptoriumblogpost. FOCAP is disappointed in Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister for doing nothing about the illegalities at the Creative Arts Agency. Foundation of Concerned Arts Professionals FOCAP has expressed their total disappointment in the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer for failing to honor his promise of correcting the ILLEGALITIES at the Creative Arts Agency. On the 29th of September 2024 FOCAP at the request of the Minister called off their intended Picketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture to rather have a meeting with him. At the said meeting the minister promised to ensure that the Board and Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency is legally constituted according to Act 1048 by the end of October. We are in November and nothing has been done according to the agreement reached and several calls to the ministry has proved futile. FOCAP will announce the next line of action very soon since the industry must be governed Legally and not IL...

Why our senior colleagues are not directly investing back into the industry like their colleagues in Nollywood ? Majeed Suhuniyi writes: A lot of the time I think hard about why our senior colleagues are not directly investing back into the industry like their colleagues in Nollywood and different woods.  Is it that they don't have enough resources to invest back into the industry? By now we should have had a solid production like Funke Akindele's, A buzzing production like Ramsey Noah's etc I believe the pace setters are power houses individually, having them as producers/directors could change the industry for good.  However, they might have valid reasons for not delving into production. Kudos to the senior actors in Ghana who are doing their best by becoming industry employers Yvonne Nelson, Nadia Buari, Kafui Danku and etc. May your investments yield times 5. We know it's not easy. To my fellow young lads, if we want to keep this industry working, we need to start t...
