A lot of the time I think hard about why our senior colleagues are not directly investing back into the industry like their colleagues in Nollywood and different woods.
Is it that they don't have enough resources to invest back into the industry? By now we should have had a solid production like Funke Akindele's, A buzzing production like Ramsey Noah's etc
I believe the pace setters are power houses individually, having them as producers/directors could change the industry for good.
However, they might have valid reasons for not delving into production. Kudos to the senior actors in Ghana who are doing their best by becoming industry employers Yvonne Nelson, Nadia Buari, Kafui Danku and etc. May your investments yield times 5. We know it's not easy.
To my fellow young lads, if we want to keep this industry working, we need to start thinking beyond being employees, we need to start attempting to be employers. Yes I know there's a thing in Ghana where some Main Directors/Producers sideline actors who try their hands on producing/directing (Only God knows why). But we need more hands in the industry.
We need more producers and directors. We don't have to be big names first. And I know it's not everyone that can produce or direct, but let's not limit ourselves to just being before the cameras, sometimes being behind the camera might be where our strength lies.
