  TEMA FOOD BAZAAR an event organized by Speech Production and Manille Foods in collaboration with Event Republic and Scriptorium Arts has received official endorsement from Ghana Tourism Authority and The Office of Diaspora Affairs of the Presidency. During my tour of Global Mercy, the world’s largest civilian hospital ship docked at Tema Port, I was deeply moved by my interactions with fellow Ghanaians undergoing life-changing treatments, including childhood orthopaedic conditions, many of whom had waited years to receive them. I welcomed the Mercy Ships team back to Ghana for their fifth mission since 1991. In a world where countries and individuals are increasingly focused on self-interest, Mercy Ships remains a floating vessel of true mercy and humanism. Its impact in Ghana is remarkable. During its 10-month stay, the mission will continue to provide direct patient care while training local health workers alongside its international medical team. The Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has assured the Ghanaians who were evacuated from South Africa due to xenophobic attacks in that country that, Government would continue to provide the needed support required to ensure their reintegration.    He stated this on Friday, 4th September, 2026 when he welcomed the final batch forty-one (41) evacuees on arrival at the Accra International Airport, accompanied by Ambassadors and Directors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as officials from other government institutions.   The National Identification Authority (NIA) has taken note of reports and public commentary suggesting that the Authority has recently introduced or unilaterally increased fees for Ghana Card registration and related services. The NIA wishes to clarify, respectfully but unequivocally, that such reports are misleading and do not accurately reflect the applicable fee regime or the legal basis for the charges. The revised fees currently applicable to NIA services were approved by Parliament under the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) Regulations, 2025 (L.I. 2512), pursuant to the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2022 (Act 1080). The revised fees took effect on 2 February 2026. They were therefore not fees unilaterally introduced by the NIA in 2026. Addressing the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Freetown, Sierra Leone, President Mahama said the attacks, which have resulted in the loss of lives and created fear and uncertainty among affected communities, require urgent attention. While we continue fighting for "Freedom of Speech" to be Respected, let's be decorous in our outburst especially on radio, TV & Online as well as encourage victims to go to court when defamed. Is it also possible to set up a special court to deal with these senseless and abusive acts since it's becoming rampant so that Victims can get early Justice because the delay in getting Justice is what pushes victims to resort to ways and means not prescribed in our Constitution. Bottom line is Democracy is expensive so let's pay the price. Byheart talking must stop or reduce drastically but that can only happen when Victims go to court and get Justice quickly in order to deter such maniacs. In conclusion let me give you an example of why defamation in court really works and must be used.
