How well are we Protecting our PRIMARY MARKET?

How well are we Protecting our PRIMARY MARKET? Witten by : Mr. Enock Agyepong                       CEO of Speech Production  The reality is that we are in a digital world where Music today is basically assessed via our phones. Fact is, these digital platforms are being controlled or manipulated by humans with interest who makes us see & listen to what they want us to. Playlisting is key, and just like radio promo, it's also being influenced as well. Beyond this convo which you can basically do little about there is what we call the PRIMARY MARKET where every country can do a lot about. Some countries have activated policies to protect their Primary Market whiles others have opened their anus for every Tom Dick and Harry to pass through and take full advantage of. Today, Ghanaian event organizers in December spend about 3.5million dollars on foreign Artists whiles denying our own local Artists venues to perform....

Kwasi Aboagye reports Shatta to the UK Tax Office.

Kwasi Aboagye reports Shatta to the UK Tax Office. Whistle blowing in twi is Kokonsa and that is part of the Media Job. I remember how Mark reported Celebrities to GRA for them to go after Jackie Appiah, Lilwyn, and the rest. Indeed, the GRA wrote to them with huge amount of Taxes and their bases was that they see them driving big cars. After GRA chased them for a while, they realised some of the cars were gifts and rented cars for their jobs, so they abandoned that wild goose chase. Audio Money is part of showbiz unless we don't understand this job, and the fact that you see me in a private jet in my new music video does not mean the Jet belongs to me. Taxes are based on income, and I don't think the UK tax office is stupid enough to tax peoples utterances without investigations if indeed there was such a transaction with evidence. My question is even if Alordia and his people didn't pay him in UK but let's say their major Ghanaian sponsors paid brand Shatta in Ghana f...

FOCAP Condemns Politically Motivated Attack On United Showbiz Entertainment Pundits.

FOCAP Condemns Politically Motivated Attack On United Showbiz Entertainment Pundits. Creative Arts Advocacy Group, Foundation of Creative Arts Professionals(FOCAP) condemns the exhibitions of Hooliganism shown over the weekend by a group of persons in the studios of UTV whiles Entertainment Pundits were on live Television. FOCAP believes the Constitution gives every citizen, including entertainers, the right to speak their minds and speak it freely. In a Democracy where the core value is freedom of speech, no individual or group of persons has the right to attack anyone simply because he or she disagrees with their opinion. Interestingly, these same Politicians who engage the services of Entertainers for their campaigns are now saying the same Entertainers have no right to speak up? Fact is nobody, including the government, has the right to stop anyone from exercising this fundamental human right. The Constitution in Article 162(4) clearly states that "Editors and publishers of ne...

Nurses are our Angels on Earth & we must take good care of them - Enock Agyepong

Nurses are our Angels on Earth & we must take good care of them - Enock Agyepong  Nursing, just like teaching, is not just any profession but comes with a calling. First and foremost, you must have the passion for the Job, you must also have love for humanity, you must be able to withstand blood and nauseating situations as well and most of all you must have the Patience to understand any form or type of Patient you encounter. Back in the village, a midwife or even the trainee nurse was one of the most important persons there, and everybody's health depended on them. A few years ago we had people who chose Nursing  as a career without a calling and their treatment towards their Patients really angered society leading to some form of protest and disrespect for the entire Nursing Profession but in recent times it seems these Nurses have received the right orientation and have changed from their arrogant ways making society accept them back wholeheartedly. The Nursling profes...

The President's Daughter is ILLEGALY Holding Office at the Creative Arts Agency, Ghana - FOCAP

The President's Daughter is ILLEGALY Holding Office at the Creative Arts Agency, Ghana - FOCAP  The Creative Arts Agency, Act 1048 was passed in 2020 under a Certificate of URGENCY. It means we're suppose to Hit the ground running but as it stands now even a tortoise is moving faster than the Agency and we can only conclude that it was passed just to gain political points since it was an election year. Whether to gain political or personal or Industry points all we care about is that the law has been passed and we need to abide by it. Interestingly, our President who is a Lawyer has decided to do otherwise and no matter the amount of red flags raised by FOCAP, he continues to see no evil & hear no evil. The law states in Section 12 of Act 1048 that (1) The President shall, in accordance with article 195 of the Constitution, appoint an Executive Secretary for the Agency. Take note of the word "SHALL" Fact is for the past 3years the President's Daughter has occu...

Promote your own was for your own Good - Enock Agyepong

Promote your own was for your own Good - Enock Agyepong  Nobody will take out his intestines and replace it with cotton apart from Us. For years we've been Preaching, let's promote our own, let's promote our own saaa but as usual those put in charge to promote our own have decided to rather take monies from our neighbours and promote their works. They've sold the birthright for coins. Fact is that the more you promote something, the more you create demand for it. Now in December we're being told that our audience have an appeal for our neighbours music instead of our own in fact sponsors even spend more monies on  them than our own Artists. Like I said earlier common sense should tell us that the more we promote something else the more our people will demand for it but because we refuse to think we continue to perpetrate that foolishness in everything including prioritising soap operas over our local productions,  Just a few weeks ago we all saw how Olive The Boy lu...

Some Pundits deliberately insult Shatta to become popular.

Some Pundits deliberately insult Shatta to become popular. Sammy Rasta a Ghanaian Movie Producer and Pundit on a program hosted by Nana Romeo of Accra100.5FM every Saturday afternoon said that many of these so called Pundits on radio and tv shows need popularly and one of their modus operadi is to deliberately insult the Shatta brand which is obviously huge and gives them the needed attention. Pundits are desperate to become popular, and they will do anything, including insulting brands just to become relevant. The question is, how do we develop an industry by insulting brands, I mean, where from such senseless behaviour.
