There are No Jobs so you can’t call the Ghanaian Youth Lazy - Pablo Hxncho  Pablo Hxncho is currently promoting his new single Tsunii which literally means Work The song talks about how we as humans need to work in order to eat.  In an interview on Kessben 92.9fm over the weekend the host Kojo Preko Dankwa asked him if the youth of today are lazy reason why they’re not working? In his response Pablo said there are actually no jobs for the youth to do so we cannot call them lazy. He continued that if our governments were building factories and the youth were refusing to work then we can call them lazy but as it stands now there are no jobs and even the few ones that are there are being collapsed. In fact it’s sad how one will finish school but cannot get a job on merit unless he knows someone as a man or removes her pants as a woman. As it stands now our leaders are making a lot of the youth jobless and useless and that is complete waste of Human Resources resulting in a lot of...

CREATIVE ARTS AGENCY A COMPLETE WHITE ELEPHANT. (FOCAP President Kojo Preko writes)

CREATIVE ARTS AGENCY A COMPLETE WHITE ELEPHANT 1- You claim you are the so-called Ceo of CREATIVE ARTS AGENCY.  Yet you can not even fighting for your own creatives going through the current challenges with FDA and its guidelines to ban well-known personalities and professionals from advertising alcoholic beverages.  2- You assumed a position that you have not been appointed by law, and I wonder how the creative industry is benefiting from your position.   3- No board members and board chairman, yet we have executive secretary  calling herself ceo.  4. No Musician in Ghana is receiving Royalties via our CMO due to the Refusal of the Attorney General to renew the license of Ghamro and our toothless bulldog of a Creative Arts Agency can’t do anything about it. The agency was created for the creatives and to serve the purpose.  Creatives are suffering, and yet we are happy to see an agency with the aim of helping the creatives.  It's shameful and unfortun...

COOK-A-THON RECORD ATTEMPT: LET'S LOOK AT IT THIS WAY... by Kofi Kyei

COOK-A-THON RECORD ATTEMPT: LET'S LOOK AT IT THIS WAY... by Kofi Kyei The cooking de3 he cooked, and it's was long. He did that without much support. This is why there was very little interest in what was an obvious delays in getting feedback from the Guinness World Record.  I particularly didn't support him because at the time, I felt he was going to derail the effort of Chef Fela and even called on him to possibly hold on until Fela gets her record and enjoys that fame for sometime.  Then it emerged the Fela didn't meet the required standard. There and then, I realised that I was quick in discouraging him. The principle for my disagreement hadn't changed, but hindsight thought me that things happen for a reason.  Yesterday, I wrote a piece with the plan to post later today, using him as an example of resilience in the face of adversity and congratulating him for defying his critics to pursue a dream. The piece is ready, but usually, in such times, I try to wait.  ...

BEFORE YOU RELEASE AN ALBUM OR EP, READ THIS…

Image
BEFORE YOU RELEASE AN ALBUM OR EP, READ THIS… Albums and EPs are not just collections of songs. Songs on an album or EP must all be geared towards an ultimate theme. This is exactly what is displayed in ‘Kofi oo Kofi EP’ by Kofi Kinaata. Pay attention to the chronology! Track 1 to Track 7 tell a simple story. The EP is about life from the cradle, mother’s love (Auntie Ama), hardship and the quest to make it in life (Abonsam), encounter with adversaries cloaked in the apparels of loved ones (Saman). ‘Kofi oo Kofi' also accentuates the tussle with finding love, something almost everybody can relate to (Effiakuma Broken Heart). All these form part of adulting! Meboa?  Falling in love again after broken heart, as demonstrated in 'Take Away', is symbolic of regaining one’s glory after being shattered by life’s woes (in Effiakuma Broken Heart). I call ‘Overthinking’, the last song on the EP, the 'nyansapow' of the entire project. It sums up the EP. ‘Overthinking' reit...
