Ghana's Tech Talent Shines: Minister Explores Partnership with Local Device Repair Expert

Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), today met with Malfred Kwame Kudu a local tech enthusiast who has gained international recognition for his exceptional device repair skills.

His impressive work was showcased at the recent Global AI Summit, where he demonstrated his ability to convert iPhones to accept global SIM cards. According to Malfred Kwame Kudu, his journey is a testament to self-taught learning and dedication. He attended Kumasi Secondary Technical School, where he studied applied electrical and began repairing devices for his teachers through YouTube tutorials and online courses. He has a passion for teaching others and has therefore expressed a desire to create a platform for people to learn and develop their skills which presents a great opportunity for collaboration and knowledge sharing. The Ministry is exploring ways to partner him to create a course or program for teaching device repair and management.

This potential partnership, according to Hon. Sam Nartey George (MP) could provide employment opportunities for many people and help address the issue of faulty phones being imported into the country. The Ministry is excited about the possibility of working together to create a program for mutual benefit. "We are thrilled to see the talent and innovation that exists in our country", said Hon. Samuel Nartey George.
"We look forward to exploring ways to support and empower individuals like Malfred Kwame Kudu who are making a positive impact in the tech industry. The Ministry is committed to promoting digitalization and innovation and this partnership could be a significant step towards achieving those goals”, the Minister said.
