Gideon Aryeequaye appointed as the Executive Secretary of CAA marks the beginning of a new dawn for the creatives.
Kojo Preko Dankwa (FOCAP President) writes
I am happy with the current government in appointing a substantive executive secretary for the Creative Arts Agency(CAA).
Indeed, this shows the level of interest, energy, and zeal to see the Creative Arts sector grow up. This is not a government that didn't take seriously the Creative Arts sector but rather toyed with the business and lives of the Creatives by shamelessly living it in the hands of the former President's Daughter (Gyankroma Akuffo Addo) to operate as if it was her personal property.
Ministers couldn't speak the truth to power and did not have the balls to drop Gyankroma Akuffo Addo but rather allowed her to deepen the woes of the creative arts sector as the illegal executive secretary of the Creative Arts Agency.
When FOCAP and I decided to blow the whistle of being citizens and not, the spectator, it fell into deaf ears and made it look like we hated Gyankroma Akuffo Addo and the NPP government. Very disappointing.
The appointment of Gideon Aryeequaye as the Executive Secretary of CAA marks the beginning of a new dawn for the creatives. This also makes him the first and official appointee as the executive secretary. It's welcoming news, and I am so happy the right process and channel has been used. I am equally looking forward to seeing the establishment of a board as well to hit the ground running.
To my brother, Clearly, you need to see yourself and your team speed up and your presence felt by the creatives. The creative industry is hungry for success.
The task is not easy, but I trust you and your team will deliver.
There are too many things that need to be done and changed as well, but I will keep my fingers crossed for another day.
