Compromised and Partisan Journalism the bane of our democracy.
Just like some positions in our society like the Public Servants, Chiefs, the Clergy it’s assumed and advised that Journalists stay away from partisan politics.
Journalist NEEDS to stay NEUTRAL since you can’t do partisan politics and still speak the TRUTH.
Society depends on Journalists for TRUTH & FACTS so when majority of our journalists are seen to be openly partisan it makes the country very vulnerable.
Just like our partisan Prophets who turns God into “a lair” by prophesying that the same God told two different prophets that two different presidential candidates will win one election, and that’s the same way you now see two different partisan journalists fighting each other over the TRUTH.
We know man must eat but when man wants to eat with both hands and drink palm nut soup with a white shirt on in the open then you should expect nothing more than a soiled reputation.
A respected journalist like Kweku Baaku vanished into oblivion after he started dining with the ruling party since his compromised position made his words carry no weight any longer.
You listen to a fine Journalist like Sefa Kai who is suppose to be the Chairman General of all Journalists and you wonder what to believe.
As for Paul Adom you wonder if he has ever come across the word Shame in his life time.
Richard Sky one of the best Journalist on air now sounds awkward in the ears of the listener who only wants facts.
You sometimes wonder how this NPP Government was able to compromise all these great journalists.
You again wonder how they also managed to compromise great Pastors into digging a hole in the name of building a cathedral.
Fact is this NPP guys have done a great disservice to our society by perpetuating these acts but our corrupt society, sadly will see nothing wrong with such corrupt acts.
Now the incoming NDC government will also come in with its set of compromised journalists like Captain Smart and co whose job might be to put a spin on the wrongs if any.
Now the question is who can the citizens depend on for the Truth with regards to the NEWS when all we have are compromised journalists?
It’s sad and pathetic yet these wounds keep getting deeper and keeps spreading like a cancer without a cure and you wonder how it will end our vulnerable society.
In all this cheap journalism there are still quite a few Professional Journalists whom have stayed the course and folks like Bernard Avle of Citi fm, Kwame Appiah Kubi of Kessben fm and the few must be respected and supported for their loyalty to the profession.
Let’s continue to verify what we hear on our airwaves and let our conscience be our Guide.
