Well! “The Gods Are Not to Blame” has come to an end, but our journey continues - George Quaye

Standing ovation after standing ovation! Damn! You have no idea how humbled we are! Thank you to everyone who made “The Gods Are Not to Blame” at the National Theatre an epic success! We couldn’t have done it without your support and hard work. Here’s a short appreciation post to all those who made this production unforgettable:

First! To the Leadership and Board of the National Theatre of GHANA for the faith and honour in appointing me as Artistic Director in Residence and allowing me to direct this masterpiece with their massive support! Thank you.

Next to the late amazing Nigerian talent, Ola Rotimi for his brilliant adaptation of Sophocles’ original Greek piece, “Oedipus Rex,” bringing this story to life! Hope we made you proud wherever you are.

Then to the amazing cast and crew for their great dedication and talent that shone on stage over the weekend. I’m even speechless! Kudos to the props team, drummers, dancers, supporting cast, and the legendary actors who brought their A-game to make this production exceptional. To my uncles, Fred Amugi, David Dontoh and Mawuli Semevo! I cannot thank you enough for all the guidance. But let me single out Andrew Tandoh Adote for a bit.

Playing King Odewale is not a joke! It’s a physical and mental challenge very few actors can manage! So here’s to express my heartfelt kudos to our lead actor, Andrew Tandoh Adote, for his exceptional performance in “The Gods Are Not to Blame”! Bro! Your talent and dedication brought the character to life in a truly unforgettable way. Thank you for your incredible contribution to the success of the play. Bravo, Andrew! πŸ‘πŸŒŸ
