THE 24-HOUR EXPERIENCE: LIVE IT, LOVE IT!

 

The rising of the sun on December 23rd, will be welcomed by a vibrant convergence of art, music, fashion, and culture unfolding at the heart of a picturesque green and serene environment located at Tema Community 7.

Big Joe’s Garden plays host to this year’s Black Art Street Festival. The festival celebration themed the “The 24-Hour Experience” is a collaborative effort of Black Art Street Festival and Big Joe’s Place. 

After a 2-year hiatus, the festival returns to give patrons a 24-hour of a breath-taking and unending experience that will properly usher them into the Christmas festivities. It is aimed to celebrate creativity in all its forms while embracing the greens of the garden and enjoying some local foods and drinks among others.

Visual and performing artists and artistes and other creatives will beautifully display their works and talents, transforming the garden into an open-air gallery. Intricate art installations, vivid paintings, graffiti and unique installations will dot the beautiful landscape of the garden, creating a visual feast that will merge seamlessly with the garden’s natural beauty.

Vendor stands will line up the festival grounds, offering a diverse array of goods and services including art pieces, fashion items and culinary delights such as the special Big Joe Organic Waakye, fufu, local drinks just to mention a few that mirror the cultural richness of the Ghanaian and African community. 

Lovers of photography will have the experience to have photo-ops with some of the finest photographers who will have their photo-experience booths dotted across the garden to immortalize moments into memories. 

Interactive open studio-conversations (ByTheFireSide Convos) and live demonstrations have been scheduled to engage patrons, encouraging them to explore their own creativity. From family sip-and-paint sessions to collaborative mural painting, the festival aimed to be a participatory experience, fostering a sense of community and shared artistic spirit.

Festival patrons will welcome the dusk with a rain of lights. Lanterns will illuminate the pathways of the garden and fireworks and installations will cast a spectacular glow, creating an exciting atmosphere. 

The experience also has a total fun package for families. The kids arena will have all sorts of play equipment from bouncing castle, to slides and healthy sweets. Families may engage in games such as charades, jenga, musical chairs, video games and other activities. You may want to come along with your own games as well. Yes, it will be crazy like that! 

The evening and night experience will be made of live musical performances, fashion runway shows, lyrical battles, comedy sessions and many more that will lead us into the dawn of December 24, where patrons may join the Tema 24th Jogging and Walkathon.
