UNICOM GHAMRO is an ILLEGITIMATE Association with NO LOCUS as far as GHAMRO is concerned.

It is important to state and understand that in field of Copyright and Collective management like the case of Ghamro and other CMO’s, musicians and particularly those who parade the media corridors get the fact that GHAMRO as a Society of Right Owners deals with individual ownership of music and DOES NOT deal with Associations, Groupings or any bonding relations.

Since the office of the Attorney-General is both the Regulator and the custodian of the law, I wonder why they are giving Oxygen to ILLEGITIMATE Groups like UNICOM Ghamro.

Is the office of the Attorney General saying that if SHATTA WALE and MEDIKAL also forms a group calling itself CROCODILE GHAMRO or some Publishers come up with a pressure Group called Mosquito GHAMRO or any other grouping he would ask a mediation team to sit with Ghamro?.

Let us Not set certain wrong and illegal precedence that will disturb the working of an Organisation like Ghamro which is established by law.

Yes, I do admit that there is Freedom of Associations but that Freedom does not extend to the field of Copyright to permit any Associations to determine how any Legal Organisation operates.

Check the anology again, is the Attorney-General saying just because NDC keeps complaining about the bad governance of the NPP as an opposition party is supposed to so he will allow NDC to bring 2 members to form a mediation team with this current NPP Government?.

Logically it does not wash so I wonder why they can apply this kind of precedence to an industry that operates under LAW. 

Let's STOP Perpetuating ILLEGALITIES, the law is the law so allow GHAMRO to do its work.

This Useless and Senseless quick to find a ground for people complains even when there are law that can adequately deal with the situation is NONSENSE, The resort to intimidation Must STOP NOW.

As far as the running of GHAMRO under law is concerned UNICOM Ghamro or whatever Ghamro there is a Useless and ILLEGITIMATE Association. They can complain and do whatever they want as some group but they do not represent the views of the entire membership.

When it comes to GHAMRO Elections the Constitution does NOT recognise any Groupings like UNICOM GHAMRO or whatever In fact, the Attorney-General is simply supervising an ILLEGALITY and LAW Courts is the only option provided so please STOP the INTIMIDATION and work with the LAW.

Whenever NOMINATIONS are open for Elections at Ghamro it does NOT Recognise Groups or Associations or Parties but it Recognises ONLY INDIVIDUAL RIGHT OWNERS so let Nobody try to perpetrate any form of ILLEGALLITY be it for Political reasons or whatsoever.

What GHAMRO must do to renew its Licence with the Attorney-General is spelt out explicitly including submission of its accounts, reports for the year, register etc. It does NOT include recognition of any groups or whether someone decides to sleep in court.

It is rather our expectation that the Attorney General would focus on his duty as the Regulator to assist Ghamro through the enforcement of the LAW to collect Royalties, establish the Logging System and get the Copyright Legislative Instrument (LI) on the blank levy bill passed by parliament.

This would rather bring benefit to INDIVIDUAL MUSIC RIGHT OWNERS of GHAMRO including members of legitimate groups like MUSIGA, GAPI etc who have invested their fortunes in this business.

Let us allow GHAMRO to Grow LEGALLY in PEACE.
