Let's take a second look at our Criminal Laws & Punishment - Enock Agyepong concurs with Abeku Santana

Wrong is wrong and Right is right so Crime is Crime but what sense paa does it make to imprison someone 5years for stealing a bunch of plantain?

Even though Abeku can't justify his loose chicken pizzaman statement we cannot also overlook the fact that some of our punishments are senseless and needs to be looked at critically.

Every sensible society has reforms like Community Service that takes care of misdemeanours instead of throwing everyone in Jails that don't reform convicts.

Prisons being used as only punishment instead of reforms is just outmoded.

If we're still using Laws that we inherited from our Slave Masters then we really need Laws that will make more sense than Laws made for Slaves with no good intent.

So as we Crucify Abeku let's also use that energy to look at our already congested prisons with all sort of crimes.

Nhyiraba being thrown into Jail with Murderers just for operating a pub really disturbs me but if that's what the law says then what else can we do about it?

For instance how do you throw someone in Jail for being a dual citizen who attemps to run for political office I mean can't you just Fine him for the state to benefit instead of imprisoning him for the state to use our small monies to take care of him?

Do you know that you can be Jailed for 3 months for driving and holding a mobile phone even when you're not making a call? Can't your license be siezed for some months for that offence?

If we're truly Independent then we should be thinking of our Citizens than what we're presently doing.

Interestingly some are even in Jail for Crimes they never committed and we've watched interviews of convicts who were released after being told they're wrongfully convicted so let's NOT treat Convicts like Animals cause they're Not.
