MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS OUTLINES SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENTS IN PASSPORT REFORMS
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) outlined major achievements under Ghana’s ongoing Passport Reforms Programme during a media briefing held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra, on Wednesday, 12th November, 2025. The reforms are aimed at enhancing efficiency, convenience, affordability and security in the passport acquisition process for all Ghanaians. In addressing the media, the Minister announced the introduction of a 24-hour expedited passport application processing service at the cost of Two Thousand Cedis (GH₵2000). This service is designed to ensure that applicants who have urgent needs for passports could receive the services without challenges. The Minister also informed that effective 13th November, 2025 the cost of passport application would be reduced by 30% from GH₵500 to GH₵350 in line with Parliamentary approval.
