DJ Sly King leads the nominations, scoring 8 slots including the ultimate, DJ of the year and Best Mobile DJ. DJ Lord OTB, the current title holder of the DJ of the Year slot, follows with 7 nominations. This year’s nominees reflect abundant creative expression and DJ excellence across the entertainment industry. The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on Tuesday, 14th October 2025,  paid a high-level working visit to the New York City Police Department (NYPD) Headquarters at One Police Plaza, where he held bilateral discussions with NYPD Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch and members of her executive command team.   The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, led a delegation of senior officers of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) New York Field Office, marking the first-ever official engagement between the leadership of the Ghana Police Service and senior executives of the FBI in the United States. This historic visit forms part of a broader U.S. engagement aimed at deepening operational partnerships and sharing best practices between the Ghana Police Service and leading American law-enforcement agencies. MINISTRY OF HEALTH WELCOMES ORBIS FLYING EYE HOSPITAL TO BOOST EYE CARE TRAINING

The Ministry of Health has reaffirmed government’s commitment to improving eye health and preventing avoidable blindness as it welcomes the Orbis International Flying Eye Hospital to Ghana.  The state-of-the-art aircraft, which serves as a mobile training and surgical centre, is set to enhance the skills of local professionals and strengthen eye care delivery across the country. On Sunday October 12, I was honoured to launch the first phase of the 5th edition of our #Back2School initiative, supporting 800 students from Tema East as they transition from JHS to SHS. It was a joy to personally ensure that our day students received backpacks full of essential learning materials, while our boarders were equipped with trunks and chop boxes containing all the necessary provisions and toiletries for their new journey. I was deeply moved by the show of support from our community leaders and education stakeholders. UNPAID HEALTH WORKERS TO RECEIVE SALARIES AS GOVERNMENT DELIVERS ON ITS COMMITMENT

The Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has announced significant progress in addressing the backlog of unpaid salaries and recruitment challenges it inherited upon assuming office. Speaking at a press conference, Hon. Mintah Akandoh said the Ministry has worked diligently with the Ministry of Finance to resolve long-standing issues affecting thousands of health workers across the country. He disclosed that 883 medical house officers who began work in 2024 without pay have now been placed on a salary, while clearance has been secured for 203 doctors employed late last year.   Approval has also been given for the recruitment of 800 doctors who completed their housemanship in 2024 but were still awaiting placement, he added. The Minister added that 321 pharmacists who completed their housemanship in early 2024 have now received their allowances. The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on Monday, 13th October, 2025 addressed the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women. Emphasising the importance of the meeting, the President underscored that it reaffirms the shared commitments made during the  Beijing Conference 30 years ago for the empowerment of women and girls. He stated that Ghana on its part has resolved to remain committed and has taken decisive measures to mainstream gender. He cited the election of Ghana’s first female Vice President and appointment of other women for strategic positions and expressed optimism that with continued support, women could break the glass ceiling and advance to lead the country.
